Portray of the Destination
Located in the heart of Maroc Utile (the country's most fertile zone), Casablanca serves as
the economic and trade center of Morocco due to its important port and industry.
Throughout its history, Casablanca was occupied by different peoples. Nearly the 7th C, the
Muslim conquered this area. In the early 15th century, it became a safe harbor for pirates; thus
the Portuguese took control over the region and remained there until 1755, when an earthquake
almost destroyed the entire town. Some centuries before that, at the beginning of the 20th C, the
French established a protectorate over Morocco, which lasted until 1956. In said year, Morocco
obtained independence from France. All these cultures mixed and resulted in the current appearance
of this wonderful city.
Like any metropolis, Casablanca presents a hectic modern life and is well connected through
public transport. Nowadays, the city is developing tourism industry. Therefore, you will be able to
find a wide variety of offers regarding accommodation, tourist attractions, and leisure.
